Last Day to Pledge for Release Event Pickup!
about 1 month ago – Sun, May 31, 2026 at 09:57:03 AM

Denver people!

Today is the last day to pledge if you want to pick up your book at a release event!

Release Event Pick Up is a special reward for followers and folks who pledge early. In order to pick up your book at an event, please do both of the following:

1. Read the instructions in the campaign story and pledge to the tier of your choice
2. RSVP to one of two drop events

I'll be ordering books tomorrow, so make sure you get your pledges in!

(Miss the deadline? Don't worry, you can still come to the events. I just won't be selling physical books there)

Thanks for all your support and happy reading!

Stretch Goal 2 has been met so please enjoy this joke!
about 1 month ago – Fri, May 29, 2026 at 05:18:16 PM

Whoo! We did it!

You guys are amazing! We made our second stretch goal!

That means all backers not only get the "All the Bookmarks" reward. You get the "Map Postcard Pack" as well!

And that's just the beginning. I've got some amazing prizes cooked up for you, and we're on track to unlock them all.

Our next stretch reward will be the Total Spider Island Postcard. Remember when I said the map pack was one of my favorites? Well, this is my actual favorite. I spend so long drawing this stupid little joke. This is not my normal art style, it needs some cleaning, but now I get to subject you all to my shenanigans!

Since this is the point when things start slowing down, this reward will be unlocked when the campaign reaches $2500. All rewards in this campaign are physical, all backers will receive this reward after it's unlocked.

Also if you haven't already, make sure you're checking out the other projects in the Book Bazaar collab. Back up to five, and you can get that cool sticker sheet. More, and you might get to see a bunch of us attempt writing an exquisite corpse story together. Will it be readable? Who knows!

We're on our way!

Wow you guys are fast! First Stretch Goal Met!
about 2 months ago – Thu, May 28, 2026 at 11:52:00 AM

Hi everyone!

Wow, you all are amazing! We reached our stretch goal the first day! Seriously couldn't have planned it better.

Now that we've unlocked the "all the bookmarks" reward, every backer will get the full set of three character bookmarks. All art is drawn by me, and I'm so happy everyone gets to enjoy it. I worked so hard on these pieces, and I'm really happy with how they turned out!

Our next stretch goal is one of my favorites. The map postcard pack! Love those maps in the front of the books, but hate having to flip to the front matter every time you want to reference them? Worry no more! This postcard pack includes colored versions of the Far Islands and Welspire Island maps. Good news for folks backing the B&W classic hardback and paperback tiers.

We unlock this reward when the campaign reaches $2,000, so be sure to tell everyone about the Spider Island BackerKit campaign!

While I'm at it, I'd also like to announce our top Audiobook stretch goal. I've had so much interest in this goal, and it's one I really hope to hit. I think it's also important to let people know what I'm working toward, so I set this stretch goal at $5,000.

Easy peasy, right?

Keep in mind, only deluxe tier backers will receive the audiobook for free. If we hit the goal, then I'll create an add on option for those who have who might have backed at a different tier level. I might also have an extra super secret stretch reward if we end up blowing way past that goal 👀

Once again, I'm so thankful for all the support you all have provided. You guys have no idea how over the moon I am right now.

Last Chance to Order Spider Island for Release Event Pickup!
about 2 months ago – Mon, May 25, 2026 at 11:54:15 AM

Hey everyone!

Since there has been some confusion around the follower early access, I'm extending the deadline for early pledges through the weekend. That means if you want to pick up your book at a release event, you can pledge between now and May 31st.

I really can't extend any farther than that. The special edition ships from the UK and can take a month to arrive. Event pick-up was meant to be a reward for backers who follow and pledge early. That means actually pledging early.

If you're claiming your book at an event, please do both of the following:
  1. Back the campaign at whatever tier you'd like before May 31st
  2. Fill out this RSVP form

There will be two events where you can claim your copy of Spider Island. The release party will be at Adrifit Tiki Bar, Tuesday, July 14th. Have a good time, do a shot of Xianite (or a non-alcoholic Far Island lemonade) and be the first to claim your copy of the first book in the Atrix Files.

Can't make it to the release party? No worries! I'm also hosting a silent book club at Haven Coffee and Books, July 18th. This will be a more laid-back event, with coffee, reading springs, and a few giveaway items.

The events are free and open to the public, so even if you aren't picking up a book at the event, come and have a good time!
